So that's not as bad as one might think - net elevation gain of 1000 feet or so. I'm a little worried that I'll accelerate on the downhill between 10 and 13 and then pay for it the last few miles - so I'll have to be careful about that.
I am a long distance runner in Charleston SC. This is my running log where I will post runs, race info, goals and aspirations. Huzzah!
yep. it's incredibly tough. don't sweat the net gain, it's the total uphill that will get you. and there are no flat spots. it's tough to run hills in charleston.
ReplyDeleteYes I'm terrified - what did I sign up for :)

ReplyDeleteIt looks like your training has been going really well and that you are ready to tackle that monster marathon. With that profile, you are going to have to make sure that the first half feels laughably easy. If you push too much, those later climbs are going to be really tough.
Anyway, best of luck and I will see you in Boston next year.
Thanks for the advice - at this point I'm just hoping to survive - I might do Steamtown later this year which is 955' of net decline - which really is the only type of marathon to do!
